Access to Occupational Therapy

Access to Occupational Therapy is a program designed to provide students with the skills, knowledge, and qualifications required to progress to a degree in occupational therapy. The program is specifically aimed at individuals who do not have the traditional qualifications required for university entry, such as A-levels or equivalent.

The Access to Occupational Therapy course covers a range of subjects, including occupational therapy theory and practice, anatomy and physiology, psychology, and disability studies. It also includes modules on communication skills, clinical skills, and ethical considerations in occupational therapy practice.

Upon completion of the Access to Occupational Therapy program, students can apply for a degree in occupational therapy at a university. Occupational therapy is a healthcare profession that focuses on helping people of all ages to overcome physical, cognitive, or emotional barriers that prevent them from participating in the activities of daily life. Graduates of this degree program can go on to work in a variety of healthcare settings, including hospitals, rehabilitation centres, schools, and community health centres. They may also work as educators, researchers, or occupational therapy policy makers.
